Why did Christ Jesus die?
Why was it necessary for the Son of God to die on the cross?
FIRST: Christ died to pay the sin debt for US.
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1 Peter 3:18 puts the gospel redemption plan into plain words. Christ suffered for sins. Not His sins, because he had none. He suffered for our sins.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Hebrews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

SECOND: Christ died the Just for the Unjust (US)
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

THIRD: Christ died to Bring US to God

In order to see God one must be Holy, Unblameable, Faultless...
FORTH: Christ died in the flesh for US.

Four words are usually associated with the word FLESH.
Man in the flesh sins, and will surely die, and then be judged, and he has fear of death and judgement.
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
FIFTH: Christ died to Make US Alive
