There's a great eternal God far above us,
Great beyond all comprehension here below;
When we view His vast creation all around us,
Every heart should bow to Him in reverent awe!

In His sovereign providence He's reigning o'er us,
Working out His holy, good and perfect will;
From His hand comes life and breath and all things for us,
Every creature lives upon His sovereign will!

In salvation this great God is sovereign o'er us,
Choosing sinners by His free and sovereign grace;
Then Himself providing all He demands of us,
When He gave His only Son to take our place!

When I view the son of God in the manger;
When I see Him hanging on the cruel cross;
I can only stand in wonder and amazement,
That such a One would give Himself to save the lost!

Oh, my heart is gladdened by His resurrection,
And to see Him seated on His sovereign throne;
Ruling over every part of His creation,
And by Amazing Grace! Calling out His own!
