UNIVERSAL SCHEME OF REDEMPTION
Ephesians 1:7 & Colossians 1:14
"In whom we have REDEMPTION through his blood."
Hebrews 9:12
"But by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, HAVING OBTAINED ETERNAL REDEMPTION [for us].
What is the meaning of Universal
Scheme of Redemption? Today it is taught in most churches that
Jesus Christ paid for the sins of everylast individual in the
world. Below are some thoughts concerning the effects of such a
teaching.
Universal Redemption seems to
magnify the Love of God but in reality it lessens it, Reducing it
to NOTHING! What kind of love is it that does not secure the
salvation of any by it. According to Universal Redemption; God
loved Peter no more than he did Judas, nor the saints now in
heaven, any more than those in hell, since they were both loved
alike and equally redeemed by God. God loves men with such
intense a love at one time, as to give His Son to die for them
and wills that they all should be saved and afterwords this love
is turned into wrath and fury and will punish them with
everlasting destruction. And yet.... to multitudes of them, God
does not sent them so much as the Gospel.
Where is God's Wisdom in forming
a scheme in which he fails of His end? Either God did know or He
did not know that these men would not perform the conditions
required. If Universal Redemption is true then why would God pay
the Sin Price for many that would not believe in Him when he had
the FOREKNOWLEDGE to see that they would not believe?
If Christ died for the sins of
all men, and the punishment of their sins is inflicted on him,
and bore by him, and yet multitudes of them are everlastingly
punished for them, where is the justice of God? Would the Justice
of God allow the Sin Price to be PAID TWICE. Once by the blood of
Jesus Christ on the cross and twice by the sinner for all
eternity? NO! God's Justice says that if Jesus Christ paid the
sin price then you are FREE INDEED!
Is the power of God and his
gracious will, to be obstructed by the corrupt dispositions of
men? According to this Universal Scheme of Redemption it is the
will of God that every individual man should be saved. For if
Christ has redeemed all men, and all men are not saved, it must
be either from lack of GOD's WILL to save them or from lack of
GOD's POWER.
Mal 3:6
"I change not."
According to Universal
Redemption it should be rather, I am the Lord, I CHANGE and
therefore some of the sons of men are consumed, are lost, and
perish, eventhough redemmed by Christ. At one time he loves them
so that he wills their salvation; at another time his love is
changed into hatred and his mind is to damn them.
Where would be the glory of God
the Father, in forming a scheme which does not succeed? The
ultimate end of God, in the redemption of men, as has been
observed, is his own glory.
What sort of love is that, to
love men to such a degree as to die for them and yet withhold the
means of Grace from multitudes of them?
If God has made full
satisfaction for the sins of all men, they must all be saved for
they are said to be reconciled unto God by the death of His Son.
Christ is said to have obtained eternal redemption for us, and
yet if all are not saved through it, it must be imperfect, it can
not be a full redemption, nor of eternal efficacy.
If Christ died to redeem all men
and all men are not saved by his death, then his death must be in
vain. Christ therefore did not die for them or otherwise they
would not come into condemnation or else Christ's death has no
efficacy against condemnation.
Now those for whom he prays and interceeds, are
not all men, himself being witness.
JOHN 17:9
"I pray for them: I PRAY NOT FOR THE WORLD, but for them which thou hast given me: for they are thine."
According to Universal
Redemption he died for them for whom he would not pray.
What a dissappointment must it
be to Him to see millions whom he so loved, spending an eternally
in hell under the wrath of God!
There were multitudes in hell at
the time when Christ died. Did He die for them? Or was there a
different salvation plan prior to Chirst? Sodom suffering the
vengeance of eternal fire.
Some were not sent the gospel
message. This gospel message was not preached to all. Many people
in the world have never heard of Christ. Was Jesus Christ's
Redeeming Blood useless to them?
If many people are redeemed but
not saved then where is the hope? The Universal Redemption Hope
must be in themselves.
The difference between the SAVED
and UNSAVED is not owing to the efficacy of Christ's death but to
their own wills and/or works.

Psalms 130:8
"And he shall REDEEM Israel from all his iniquities."
I Peter 1:18
"Forasmuch as ye know that ye are not REDEEMED with corruptible things, .... BUT WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST"
Revelation 5:9
"REDEEMED us to God by thy blood..."
