Thou shalt not KILL - MAKE ALIVE your neighbor to eternal life by PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL to him.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Thou shalt not STEAL - GIVE your neighbor the Gospel.

Romans:12:20:

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Thou shalt not BEAR FALSE WITNESS - BE HONEST and tell your neighbor the whole truth concerning 'THE GOSPEL'

John:8:32:

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Thou shalt not COVET - SHARE the glorious light of 'The Gospel' with your neighbor.

Luke:11:33:

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

WAKE UP YOUR NEIGHBOR TO SALVATION

ROM. 13:8-14

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

GAL. 5:14

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

THE GOOD SAMARITAN - WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

LUKE 10:25-37

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

SAMARITAN - Typifies Christians - Outcasts in the worlds eye.
Part Jew - Part Gentile.

A MAN - ADAM and all his offspring (everyone).

Genesis 1:26

"And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness:".

ROBBERS - The Devil is robbing (killing) us.

John 10:10

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:".

THIEVES - Those who come with false gospels.

STRIPPED OF CLOTHES - Naked in our sin.

BEAT (wounded) - we are wounded spiritually which causes us to sin.

HALF DEAD - we are dead in sin. Spiritually dead but not physically dead.

How do we show our love to our neighbor?

PITY - Show him Mercy.

Isaiah 63:9

"in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;".

GIVE HIM WINE - The Blood of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 31:6-7

"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that are of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more."

POUR ON OIL - Anoint our neighbor with the Gospel (Holy Spirit).

Mark 6:13

"And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them."

We should desire Salvation for our neighbor. That is how we are to love him.

  1. Love is the KEEPING of God's commandments.
  2. Love your neighbor as Christ Loved us.
  3. Christ loved us so much he poured out his blood for our salvation.
  4. Salvation is the main point.
  5. We should want our neighbors to be saved.
  6. Physical need should not be the focal point.
  7. We are to take care of other believers in the congregation.

A believer can not give his life to redeem anyone, but he can show his love by marshalling all his energies to PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL; so that men might be saved. This is how a believer is to love his neighbor as himself and as Christ loved the church.
