24 April 2000 I hear HAROLD CAMPING and ' bought the field'Can find but 5 people who even LISTEN and take seriously his teachings.I would open my home for a BIBLE STUDY.I am not ashamed to advertise my the beliefs that I feel GOD has 'force-fed' into my head and heart.I am prepared for the scorn or financial loss that may be a result of being identified with those interpretations of HOLY WRIT.I am a businessman, have a home-based business, and am told by my associates not to 'mix religion with business'. For evaluation purposes you may access my story on a website linked to my official business site. It is:www.....I obtained this e-mail thru casually searching the word TRUTH. C.H.

24 April 2000 What is your thinking about women wearing head coverings? Do you believe it is the hair..as in long hair..or an actual covering? S.H.

24 April 2000 Dear Greg, Many thanks for your response. I am so thrilled that you enjoyed reading the article and excited that you have placed it on your web site. I pray the Lord will bless many through it. I have attatched to this e mail a second article, entitled 'God's only Jesus'. I pray you will be equally blessed by the lord through it. I have noticed that there are a few men whose articles you have included on your web page that would not or did not agree with the Gospel as defined in my article and which we both love and hold to. For instance, did you know that Spurgeon believed that at least some arminians were saved. He believed that a person becomes a Christian and then goes down the arminian road or the calvin road in their theology yet both are Christians. This shocked me when my attention was brought to it. There are so many who believe that they were saved whilst believing in a false gospel. And, there are many subtelties which can deceive a person into thinking this. But, the issue really all comes to a head when it is put this way: when one is asked if they believe they were saved whilst believing in a false jesus. This second article deals with this vital issue and, again, I pray it will be a blessing to you and useful in your valued ministry. Hope to hear from you regularly.MDB.

03 January 2000 Dear Gregory, Thanks so much for visiting my page and taking the time to sign my guestbook. I am always delighted to see a new entry and find out who's been in for a visit. Happy New Year & God bless you! p.p.

02 January 2000 Dear Brother Ickes: Please add the ______ to your websites page. I would appreciate it. I shall be listing you as soon as I can get the work loaded. I am enjoying your site. Thank again. B.L. PS--Also, under the Sovereign Grace churches, you might consider Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of __________, Missouri where my wife and I are now attending. Pastor is G.L.

02 January 2000 Let us pray that God will not give us what we desire, But that He will cause us to desire what He will give! M.J.R.

31 December 1999 Hi Greg, The Calvinistic Baptist churches around here are few and far between. We have a couple of Reformed Baptisit churches in the suburbs, but no "Sovereign Grace" churches per se. In north Dallas we have Believer's Chapel which is 5 point Calvinist but dispensational (although mildly so). We have some good PCA churches that are strong on the doctrines of grace, and one CRC church that is good also. You have a nice site too. I'll visit it again when I have more time. Your fellow pilgrim, J.E.

20 December 1999 hi, i want to thank you for your effort's of teaching the true gosphel,it is a blessing to the elect childern of god. my name is d.t.. send me news letters if you like. thank you for telling the truth, though it is not you but the word of the lord, scripture always tells the story no matter what sinful man can think up. i really enjoy your site let me know how i can help support it in what ever way i can give and the lord direct's me to. thank you again, and may the lord use you for many a year, i've been waiting for the lord to send someone my way with the truth on his lipp's.and a song in his heart that song being the joy of the lord.praise his name above all name's,the name of jesus. d.l. ___________ohio

8 December 1999 Dear Greg, The page is truly outstanding. Good work! The area code for us has been changed from 713 to 281. May our sovereign Lord bless you for the work. In His Name, Pastor J.S.

7 December 1999 Greg, Sorry for the delay in responding. I sympathize with you not having a church at which to worship God where the truth is preached. I am living in the middle of an oasis and often take it for granted. I love to discuss the gospel of Christ and will stay in touch with you. Since you are experienced with Web publishing, please take a look at our site and make any suggestions. Constructive criticism will be well taken. I created a nicer site using Microsoft Publisher 97, but when I tried to upload it to the Web, all that came up was garble. Any idea what I may have done wrong? Have to go for now, but as I said, I'll stay in touch. For His Glory, C.C.

5 December 1999 Dear saint: May I humbly submit my understanding of the New Testament? First I find in Matthew’s Gospel (Good News) that the expected Messiah has arrived to set up His Kingdom and redeem His people Isreal. By setting up a Kingdom it means a literal earthly Kingdom and this Kingdom was for the Jews only. The rich young ruler was told to inherit eternal life he had to keep the commandments because the Jews at this time were still under the law. In the age of Grace in which we live, the Blood of Jesus saves us not by keeping the commandments. But because the Gospel of Matthew is for Jews under the law, they were commanded by God to keep the law. This is the first Gospel that I see in the New Testament, the second Gospel is in Acts 20:24 the Gospel of the Grace of God. The first Gospel was still under law; the second Gospel is the Gospel of Grace. The event that separated these two Gospels was the rejection of the Jewish King and His crucifixion. This ended the proclamation of the first Gospel and began the second. Now Gods focus is on the church. At the end of the church age or the age of Grace, which is called the rapture, Gods attention then goes back to the nation of Israel. In this present age we are referred to as the elect and the chosen. After the rapture then the Jews will be referred to as the elect and the chosen. The Kingdom referred to in Matthew, Mark, and Luke is the literal earthly kingdom that the Jewish Messiah will rule over. In these Gospels there is no mention of spiritual rebirth or the indwelling Holy Spirit. But in the Gospel of John we hear about spiritual rebirth and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Jesus told Nicodemus that He must be born of the water and the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is not an earthly Kingdom, but a spiritual Kingdom. So now we have seen two Gospels and two Kingdoms. I have not interpreted this; this understanding became evident when I began to rightly divide the Word. If this is not understood, and we do not separate these two Gospels and Kingdoms, we will be teaching a Gospel of Grace plus works and this is the Gospel that Paul says brings a curse. Gal. (1:8) There is another Kingdom mentioned in Mark (3:24), the Kingdom of Satan. This also is a spiritual Kingdom. The scripture reference for the first spiritual Kingdom is Rom. (14:17) “for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking; but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” The sons of the Kingdoms manifest these two spiritual Kingdoms in the natural world. In Matthew chapter 24 Jesus responds to a question about the end. The context is not Christian, but Jewish. The context is the tribulation. Since the Church has been caught out by the rapture, the only people left are the Jews (saints) and the gentile nations. In chapter 25 Jesus is referring to His return at the end of the tribulation. Since the church has already been judged in Heaven the two remaining judgments are for the Jews and the gentile nations. When the angles gather the elect, for the King to judge them, He judges them based on what they did with the talents. This is a judgment based of works, and this is for Jews only. We are thrown off a little by the parable. I have heard the parable used to explain the next judgment but it does not apply, and creates great confusion. The judging of the nation, referred to as the separation of the sheep and goats, is literally a judging of the nations based on their treatment of the Jews during the tribulation. Later D.

5 November 1999I have just a few questions to ask and would appreciate your answering the following questions. If you claim to be keeping the Biblical Truth, then what day do you keep as the Sabbath? Do you keep the seventh day, Jesus’s Sabbath and the 4th commandment or The first day of the week which man has created? --- Hey Gregory, Thought you might like to check-out this webb site and let me know what you think. I'm sure that you will find a lot of information there that might help you get a better idea of what the Sabbath is and how it is still in effect today. Take a look, and let me know what you think about it. The site is amazingfacts.com Your Friend in Christ G.G.

5 November 1999Hello, I saw your information on Predestination. Do you have any information you can share with me concerning the doctrine of Glorification? Thanks in advance, Yours in Christ, R.P.

5 November 1999Dear Brother, I just read your letter and appreciate you writing and asking about our messages. Anything that we have that you would like to use; you are welcome to do so. I do have a new Thanks, D.P.

5 November 1999Thank you for your offer. I have visited your site and what I've seen of it looks excellent. We would be glad for you to use any of our articles that you would like to. J.S. is the Pastor of our church (L.S.Baptist Church). My name is C.C. I am the Webmaster, Music Director and Adult Class Teacher at L.S. J.s. and I have both written many articles that I think you will find to be in support of the same Truth you already have on your site. The best way to access our articles is to cut and paste from our website. I will include the link below. Thank you for your work in publishing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. For His Glory,C.C.

5 November 1999Greg: I just wanted to say thank you for defending the Doctrines of Grace and proclaiming the free grace of God in the gospel. Also I thought that this e-mail's message was especially good. Concise, to the point and showing our responsibility before God and man to obey God's command to spread the gospel. Only He can make alive a sinner, dead by birth, sealed by choice, but God calls all those who are truly saved by grace to proclaim His glory by word and deed. Thank you that you are using the internet to proclaim the Word as did Spurgeon and John Gill before him in England. The internet is merely a tool, but the power to save a soul comes alone from God. Praise be to His holy name! In Christ and for His Glory Alone, Your brother in Christ - R.S.

5 November 1999Hi Pastor P, Wonderful job you are doing in serving our Lord. I say this based on reading your writings from the G-I-B-T web site.May God bless you always and in all ways, B.V. - Dear Greg,I think you will appreciate the above note. Blessings to you.

5 November 1999I like the web hits graph on your site. Could I ask what you used to create the graphics ? Thanks, J.B.

5 November 1999Dear Greg, Your kind words regarding our messages are very much appreciated. Have you ever considered moving to Louisville and fellowshiping with the church I pastor? In answer to your question regarding the seed of wicked one, the devil: His seed are spiritual. He has fathered no physical children. He is an angel incapable of doing so? Your servant for Jesus' sake (2 Corinthians 4:5), D.P.

4 November 1999Dear Gregory, I will e-mail my paper to you when it is complete. I don't make any claim that it is "man's free will that saves us". There is nothing meritorious in a man freely receiving the gift of salvation from God who gives it. God in His sovereignty ordained it so and that is that. Who is man to say that God can't of His own volition limit the exercise of His sovereignty? Are you not guilty of denigrating The Almighty yourself? Man does not save himself, God saves sinners, and to ignore the overwhelming scriptureal evidence that the effectual call to salvation and the atonement is universal (not universalism) is to place your systematic theology of man over clear scriptural fact. I'll be in touch, J.G.

4 November 1999Greg, I am grateful for you help in getting the Gospel message out. I am also grateful that the Lord has made the difference plain to your heart as well. The difference between an atonement 'provided' if... and an atonement accomplished in Christ alone is the difference between another gospel and THE GOSPEL! Grace to you! K.W.

4 November 1999God be with you and from reading your various pages, He is. You seem to have true enlightenment. I am asking for some guidance on a specific question: "Why do professed Christians continue in sin?" I would appreciate any of your comments as well as your direction for a course of study. May God be with you always and in all ways, B.V.

3 November 1999I have been working on a paper to publish but thought since I came upon your web page I'd send it to you although unfinished it raises some good points. I have not come to dealing with election yet but I still think you will find it of interest. P.S. Faith is not a work, in the bible it is always pitted against works. J.G.

31 October 1999Thank you Greg for this great web-site. I am an Elder in a Sovereign Grace Church in N.C. We preach the Doctrines of Free Sovereign Grace. Contact me sometime via email. Great work, and thanks again. I will tell some of the others in this area about your site. Elder W.M.B.

21 March 1999Thank you very much for your homepage. Although I have not studied all of the material found therein, the Lord has blessed me with the ones I have read. I do not have to tell you that a page like "Sovereign Grace Doctrines" is desperately needed in this day of apostate churches which preach free-will doctrines as well as signs and wonders. I am a student of Family Radio's School of the Bible and just recently began a website called "xxxxxxxxxxxx" Feel free to visit (www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.org). May the Lord continue to bless your proclamation of the Word. Yours in Christ, K.W.

12 March 1999I appreciate the wonderful information filled page that you have. Great Page...I encourage you to keep up the good work. I have a question. Do you know of any Sovereign Grace Baptistic Churches that do not believe in divorce, or at least reject remarriage while the spouse is alive? I know the Landmark churches have such a position. Do you know of others? How about Pastor P? Thanks for your time. Lord's blessings ... J.M.

5 March 1999 BELIEFS...... Then I guess we should forget the scripture where Jesus tells us to go to the ends of the earth and be witnesses.Should we stop preaching the gospel? Gospel means good news.Is the good news that maybe God will choose you, maybe he won't? There are plenty of "religions that teach that same thing. The truth is that we should be very careful not to give the wrong message to the unsaved.Jesus did enough for me. I don't feel the need to hope that maybe He accomplished what was his mission. It's what He lived for. It's what He died for.Check your scriptures again. Jesus did what you cannnot. What we cannot. It is a gift..... S.B.

24 January 1998 This is the most heretical site I have ever seen It is obvious that you know little of the history of Christian doctrine or the fact that the demonic man John Calvin who gave you this stuff put to death by burning at the stake anyone who disagreed with him. The test is the early church For the first three centuries the church didnot believe like you - Augustine brought in eastern thinking and neo-platonic thought which was copied by John Calvin. Your twisted pervered concepts of truth have a demonic origin and need to be renouced in the Name of Jesus. I have training in these areas and 30 years of research which back up what I am saying. I would include that I have cast demons of Calvinism out of people after they named themselves as such. You need Help. You can reach me at T. S.

21 January 1998 -7-SOVEREIGN GRACE ABUNDANTLY EVIDENT. ....The Grace of God is abundantly evident in regenaration , vocation and Sanctification. 2 TITUS 3;5 "...not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us, by the washing of regenaration ,renewing of the Holy Ghost. Question: Explain..."Washing of regenaration" Thank you, B.

8 January 1998 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSE AND I WILL GO BACK, I MUST HAVE MISSED THE "STATEMENTS" -- LIKED YOUR SITE..... ADDED IT TO OUR "FAVORITES" SO THAT I CAN REFER OTHERS TO IT AND GO BACK TO IT FOR MORE "TRUTH" LATER..... YOU ARE VERY RIGHT ABOUT FALSE TEACHERS -- WHICH IS WHY WE ARE VERY CAREFUL TO CHECK OUT THE "CREDENTIALS" AND "DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS" FIRST, THEN "RIGHTLY DIVIDE" AS WE GO ALONG..... TURNING AWAY FROM THOSE "FALSE" TEACHERS WHO "DISTRACT" FROM THE TRUTH...... WE HAVE BEEN EXCITED AND PLEASE TO SEE MORE "TRUTH" ON THE INTERNET LATELY -- OF COURSE THERE IS MORE "FALSE" AS WELL ---- THANKS!!! KEEP UP THE GRACE WORK! D&Y.S.

5 January 1998 Hey, thanks, brother, for such a terrific site of sermons!!! Look great; shall get into them ASAP Site content looks excellent! OK to print them out? S.L.

4 January 1998

Thank you so much for your reply to my question recently. I am deeply grateful for your clarification of the matter of our Sovereign's God's election process. So sad that so many (including my brother ###) are persuaded that we need to implement our views on a God of Grace. Cal may get in touch with you on this, by the way, since I sent him your web site & he's looking it over. Thanks again. God's richest blessings are with you, for sure. S.L.

2 January 1998 Help me out. What is your view of the passage that says that God isn't willing that any should perish...? Am in process of searching out the whole truth, the whole Gospel. Thanks for your reply. S.L.

1 January 1998 Praise God for the beatiful presence of Gods Grace revealed to me and others I'm sure, through these words of power and love you have presented on these pages. Thank you saints of God.

24 December 1998 We enjoyed your web page on Sovereign Grace, we are in total agreement! Please continue the good work with more puritan quotes. J.D.

16 December 1998 REF. TO LIMITED ATONEMENT? IN MY STUDY I BELIEVE IN UNLIMITED ATONEMENT. JESUS CHRIST AS GOD CAME TO RECONCILE GOD AND MAN. HE PROVIDED SALVATION TO ALL PEOPLE. ALL SINS AND JUDGEMENT FOR THOSE SINS WERE IMPUTED IN HIM ON THE CROSS.ALL SINS FROM THE TIME OF HUMAN HISTORY TO THE END OF HUMAN HISTORY WERE IMPUTED IN HIM. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO QUALIFIED.UNDIMINISHED DEITY AND TRUE HUMANITY IN ONE PERSON FOREVER, JESUS CHRIST OUR MEDIATOR THE GOD MAN. THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL REJECT THIS SO GREAT SALVATION IT IS GOD'S WILL THAT ALL BELIEVE AND THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH HIS SON, BY BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST. I LOVE THE LORD AS YOU DO. YOUR SITE ASKED AND ANSWERS ALOT OF QUESTIONS. I ENJOYED MY VISIT. IN CHRIST. J.M.

8 December 1998 Sir, Are you indicating that physical, literal, fasting,(abstaining from food) is un-Biblcal? I do not understand how that conclusion can be drawn from the Bible. I believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God. And as such I am required to believe what I read in it. I read in Matthew 4:2 that Jesus fasted frty days and forty nights, "and was afterwards hungry" How can you be hungry if you have eaten? And in verse 3, if Jesus had not been truly, physically hungry, turning stones into bread would not have been a temptation. If I have misunderstood you on this I apologise. In Christ, C.T.

6 December 1998 What an amazing message, thank's. This is the message I have had in my heart from the day I was saved, but no-one would listen. God does not do half job's, God does not fail, God does not save you so that you can walk away from him if it suits you, GOD IS SOVEREIGN, and by HIS GRACE and only HIS GRACE are we who we are now, HIS ELECT, and nothing and no-one will take us from His hand. I have been called everything from an elitist, to a fanatic, I have persecuted, austricised, and ridiculed for such thoughts, so much so, that I have kept quiet in much of my walk, thanks for the encouragement I will press on in a new found energy. Many walk in fear in this country of ever thinking they are elected of God, and would be thrown out of their churches if they ever voiced such a thought. I have copied your page and will ponder on it with much comfort. God bless you and your family, yours in Christ, R.L.R.

6 December 1998 Thanks for your return message. Fortunately, I am able to attend a church in Orlando which preaches the gospel. The name of the church is Grace Gospel Church and the pastor is Greg Elmquist. Pastor Greg began preaching the gospel in 1996. I believe Todd Niebert was the one who first shared with Greg. I wanted to ask you how your family, friends, and others have responded to your declaration of the gospel message. Have you met with opposition or have they been receptive and open? Also, do you have any thoughts on hyper-calvinism. What is it? How can you recognize it? Lastly, in sharing the gospel with others, do you tell them what He has done for you, ie. your testimony? or do you tell them to search the scriptures and allow God to teach them and open their eyes and hears? Thanks in advance for your response. Desiring to know Christ in all His fullness and truth, S.

6 December 1998 Dear Brother, Thanks for contacting me, I have not had a computer for very long, and it is still amazing to me that I can contact you this way, so please have patients with my amateurism. My wife, daughter, and I are proffessional house-sitters,and spend most of our time travelling the state of Queensland Australia, looking after peoples homes while they are away on holiday or business trips. This allows us the opportunity to visit and observe many church's. Much of what we see grieves us greatly, but praise the Lord, we meet many wonderful, faithful, and true brothers and sisters amongst it all. Our life in God is spent encouraging these people to persevere, and continually seek the Lord's face, forever washing in His truth. I love the Old Testament Scriptures that tell us of the men of God who dug wells as they travelled, I believe we too need wells on our journey and we should seek out those wells God has provided that are clean and pure. Two such wells I draw from in your country are, The Berean Call at www.thebereancall.org , and David Wilkersons Church at http://misslink.org/chapel/teacher/multilan.html both of these appear to be grounded solidly in the Truth, are well balanced, and very informative. I am a strong believer that we should contend earnestly for the Faith which has been given us, but it must always be done in truth, and love. I would love to hear what type of work you do, how you became a Christian, etc. etc., so would like to hear from you again soon. Your's in Christ; R.L.R.

18 November 1998 I have some friends in Augusta , GA area that may be searching for a good church. Do you know of any that you recommend? Reply requested. Thank you. S.L.

17 November 1998 Jesus said "God so loved the world He sent His only begotten Son the "whosoever" believeth shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 If atonement is limited to the elect that limits what Christ did and takes away from what He taught. Jesus said to tell all people and make discples of them. He didn't say don't worry the ones who I died for will come to you. Besides you pointed out in your scriptures that God says "My people." God created people in His image, so wouldn't that make everyone God's people. Also, hell is not a trophy of God's failures, it is the unfortunate demise for those who chose not to believe in the Triune God. I can in no way understand or preach that God only loved a few and left the others goto hell. E.S.z

11 November 1998 God's sovereign blessings be on you & your dedication to the true Gospel & Biblical doctrine!! I can't thank you enough for your input into my Christian life! As a pastor of Oakfield-Alabama Baptist church (CBA) I am able to secure your site (bookmarked as 'favorites') & print out some terrific materials, which I use not only for research & my own edification, but to teach the people of this congregation. I trust that this is ok with you. It sure helps!!! thanks S.L.

9 November 1998 Consider this: Jesus, himself, even said that we would loose our faith. Somewhere near LK. 8:13; He speaks of a parable of the Soils. He said that the seed sown upon the rock represents those "believe for a while, but in time of the testing they fall away". Do you see the key words that Jesus uses,"believe" and "fall away". I am not seeking an argument, but the truth. Thank you- M.D.J.

9 November 1998 Just visited your web page. I very much enjoyed your Belief Statement. Keep up the good work. Only by the grace of God am I Your Brother in Christ P.A.A.

28 October 1998 Hi Greg: Will be praying specifically for you as you search for a church. Stick to the truth as laid out so well in the Word. Do you currently attend a fellowship of believers, even if they are not completely in accord with your Biblical beliefs as so well spelled out in your web site? I am familiar with your area to some degree. Would be willing to help you look for such a church as you need, if you are interested in such guidance. I greatly appreciate your deep concern for truth. Very refreshing these days!!!!!!!!!!! Let's keep in touch. In God's Sovereign, Holy Name, S.L.

27 October 1998 Excellent web site with superb material! Praise His Holy, Sovereign Name, Jesus - Name above all names! Thank you. S.L.

27 October 1998 Hi: Am looking for your material on the alleged "Age of Accountability" Could you please email this to me when possible? Thank you. Your web site is terrific!!! S.L.

7 October 1998 I thought I would suggest a book for you to read, it is R.C Sproul's Will to Believe The Controversy over Free Will. This book has helped me to get a historical view of where this idea of "free-will" came from. Starting from Pelagius Vs. Augustine to modern day theologians, sad to say that Arminianism is rooted in an ancient heresy. I too live in an area where it is hard to find a church that teaches the sovereignty of God; but I have found two that are about 40 minutes from my home. I put an add in the paper stating: "Attention pastors, I am looking for a church who believes and teachings the doctrines of grace, or five points of Calvinism." Alone 2 churches responded to the add. Currently I'm filling as a preacher at a my parents church until the new pastor arrives. I am begging God for a man who believes, and will teach the doctrines of grace. I feel very strongly against the errors of Arminianism, and find no pleasure in hearing them preached. May the grace of God dwell in you richly. J.A.A.

6 October 1998 I think your web site is outstanding, the glory of God is your only concern as it should be for every blood bought believer. 40 years believing universal atonement! Thank God that he open your eyes to his grace, of the New Convenant. (Hebrews 8:10-13 For God,s glory. J.A.A.

12 September 1998 What differences are there in your beliefs and that of presbyterian? R&J.B.

7 September 1998 A word of caution is necessary. Yes, grace is effective [or irresistible if you want to call it that way]. However, God gave us also freedom -which is also a 'grace'- and God respects also this gift of His. What I'm saying is that 'grace' is not a single acception [or meaning] word, as almost any human word has a central meaning and several connotations that not only apply. Thus, several bible experts have concluded that there are different kinds of graces: e.g., the one that prepares a person to listen and the one that helps a person to respond and to be faithful to the Word. Do you remember reading in the Gospels 'many are the called but few the chosen?', 'make the effort to come through the narrow pass ...' or the parable of the seeds that falls into productive ground or into thorns and wordly distractions turn it sterile? In all the cases, the Word-seed is grace, but it also requires human cooperation. Let me also include a quotation found in a 1913 book, which is available in the internet, If it be asked why the name elect was given to the members of the Church Militant, we may assign a double reason: first, they were freely chosen by God's goodness (Rom., xi, 5-7, 28); secondly, they must show in their conduct that they are choice men (Ephes., iv, 17). In the sentence "many are called, but few are chosen", the latter expression renders a word in the Greek and Latin text which is elsewhere translated by elect (Matt., xx, 16; xxii, 14). It is agreed on all sides that the term refers to members of the Church Triumphant, but there is some doubt as to whether it refers to more membership, or to a more exalted degree. This distinction is important; if the word implies mere membership in the Church Triumphant, then the chosen ones, or those who will be saved, are few, and the non-members in the Church Triumphant are many; if the word denotes a special degree of glory, then few will attain this rank, and many will fail to do so, though many are called to it. The sentence "many are called, but few chosen" does not, therefore, settle the question as to the relative number of the elect and the lost; theologians are divided on this point, and while Christ in the Gospels urges the importance of saving one's soul (Luke, xiii, 23, 24), he alternately so strengthens our hope and excites our fear as not to leave us any solid ground for either presumption or despair. 7 September 1998 Shalom! Appreciated your 8 Sovereign Grace of God! Just to let you know there's one little typo on # 7 . Keep up the good work, brethren! C.L.A.

5 September 1998 Thank you for your website. My husband and I are searching for a sovereign grace church in the Hartford, CT. area. Are you in Norwich, Ct? We live in Middletown, CT. 06457. If you could help us locate such a fellowship, we would be most grateful. Sincerely in Him, Mrs. A.M.

4 September 1998 This is complete and utter heresy. It completely contradicts parts of your other statement of faith. It is disastrous that this type of heresy is on the Internet and that lost unbelieving souls will be led astray. Your views on abortion and "age of accountability" seem to again contradict. How can you possibly believe that unborn children and young children are destined for hell. To say that abortion is o.k. when you believe the unborn go to heaven is absolutely ridiculous. Murder is wrong and that is exactly what abortion is! I wonder if you have children and ever experienced the complete innocence of a young child or baby. A newborn baby is as close to God than anyone on this earth will ever get An aborted child or a young child unable to understand doesn't get the chance to hear the gospel, therefore, how could they be destined to hell. re Sodom and Gomorrah - no scripture to back it up but as these cities were so depraved, I would think that there were no children there anyway - young children that is - ones who would not have known right from wrong. Also in the Old Testament they were living under the law not under grace. The Jews had to keep the law to get to heaven - eg innocent animal sacrifice - Day of Atonement, etc. You will have a lot to answer for when you meet God face to face. P.M.

4 September 1998 You are treading on very dangerous ground when you put on the internet the doctrine of Predestination. Predestination is definitely in the plan of God, however, it is unwise to promote this to unsaved people as Scripture clearly teaches that Jesus died for ALL. Whether ALL accept Him is their decision. God could have created us all as robots - just ready to accept Him without having to think or decide for ourselves. Simply read John 3:16 the very basis of the Gospel. However, AFTER a person becomes a believer and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal saviour, then you can contemplate the Predestination doctrine. Yes, we were chosen before the foundation of the world but the Holy Spirit intercedes and brings us to the point of salvation. Consider this...prior to salvation imagine a door with a sign on it saying "Whosoever Will May Come". After salvation, the sign on the other side of the door reads "Chosen before the foundation of the World". This means after becoming a Christian, we can understand the Predestination concept better. God knew from the beginning of time who would come to believe in Him of their own will as He is all knowing. Your statement of faith concerns me....you make no mention of the Virgin Birth....the Trinity....or the Resurrection of Christ. Three absolute necessities to being a born again Christian. You seem to be so caught up in the very complex issue of Predestination while totally disregarding the basis of the Christian belief. You sound like you have been disillusioned with main stream Christian churches and sometimes I can understand that. However, never lose sight of the true basic doctrines. Remember, God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life John 3:16. Man is sinful and separated from God, therefore he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life. Romans 6:23 Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life. John 14:6. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.John 1:12 and Revelation 3:20. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to respond to your points of view. P.M.

3 September 1998 You seem to have your theology a bit mixed up. In Hosea the reference is being made to the NATION of Israel or Children of Israel as they were known. No parables were used in the Old Testament. Jesus used them when speaking to the people in the New Testament only. What denomination are you connected with??? What are your credentials for discerning scripture??? P.M.

1 September 1998 I appreciated seeing the "Single Piece of Paper Gospel" I am interested in communicating with you as to its further development and expansion that relates to other bible object lessons. ie. the Tabernacle, the scene at the cross, the furniture in the tabernacle as it points to Christ and the Cross (In Type) I would be more that happy to share this with you ...if you have an interest. I am of the doctrinal position. Thank you. L.G.

19 August 1998 I read with fascination the only book, "The Return of Jesus Christ has already happened." When I tried to send a message to the website, it was returned. I want to know more about your beliefs. Thanks, M.D.

14 August 1998 Dear Greg, Haven't heard from you for quite awhile. Just wondering if you're still "around", and to know that I think of you often and check out your site alot. It isn't very often we find someone who will actually "preach" truth. So I am thankful that you have stood for the Sound Sovereign Doctrine in God's Absolute Sovereignty- for it is a rare a perfect gift that gives Jesus Christ the glory! I was corresponding with a woman who said she believed in the Total Depravity of Man. However she is a "free-willer". (If that isn't a catch 22)! Truly she doesn't believe that man is Totally depraved just partially! How dead is dead anywise? She said that I had a closed mind. And I guess she is probably right. For once the truth of God has found it's way into the recesses of man's heart nothing can shake it, for it is from above! For it is the faith of the Son of God. (Galatians 2:20- I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me). (An interesting point of interest: the NIV uses the word "in", faith, "in the Son of God" not "the faith of the Son of God"). We have so much to be thankful for. But it is only because of the Lord Jesus Christ - for in me dwelleth no good thing!!! Philippians 2:6-8 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself (Jesus Christ) of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." Oh, for the obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ. What an awesome gift! Thank you for sending me your new e-mail address. I hope to make it to NY maybe in the spring of next year (Lord Willing)! I hope to then meet your acquaintance at that time. Trust your are studying heartily as unto the Lord. Remember I am eagerly awaiting your thoughts and/or comments on the "materials" that you received. But know there's alot of things that require "searching the scriptures to see if they be so". For that is exactly as it should be! And remember... He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ... Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ... M.J.R. " Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth!!"

19 May 1998 Dear Brother in Christ, You would enjoy reading "Chosen by God" by R.C. Sproul. He also has written a classic called "The Holiness of God" ; both are also on video. You'll find him on their web sight "Renewing your mind." He also has a daily radio broadcast. How many people were one the earth during the 1600 plus years from Adam to Noah? There had to be millions. Compare 70 Hebrews down in Egypt for 430 years. And yet there were only 8 souls on the ark! When God commanded Noah to build the ark [with all the dimensions and details] He planned just how many would be on it....much like the people He is calling out for His Name! The Church! Why? Romans 11:33-36..because it was His good pleasure! Amazing grace how sweet the sound. I want to be a part of His activity in the Great Shepherd's calling to Himself His sheep. See Mat.11:25-30 NIV Keep up your good work...it's later than it's every been. Rom. 5:10 Amp. Rom. 5:1-10 Living Bible. Jonah 2:8 NIV. In His Risen Life, D.B. Phil.3:10 [I'm still pressing on]

16 May 1998 There are so many duties/obligations on us in this world; then you are demanding to follow some extra. Best regards, R.(F.M.)

16 May 1998 Please write me something about Pride, Vanity and Dejection (or how does the Bible call that sin?). R.(F.M.)

16 May 1998 Hello, in your LIMITED ATONEMENT - PARTICULAR & EFFECTUAL REDEMPTION (http://www.norwich.net/~ickes/atone-l.htm). You quote the Bible Why did it not say; 'of ALL MEN' ? It is because He WAS NOT STRICKEN FOR ALL! Not for ADAM's SEED but for ABRAHAM's SEED, the people of the covenant, the ELECT! But doesn't the Bible say that God can make Abraham's people out of stones any time She wishes? Futhermore, in the Genesis God says to the serpent that a Man will crush the serpent's head. And She means naturally Adam's seed i.e. everyone has to do his/her best to distroy the Satan. Enjoy yourself, R.(F.M.)

16 May 1998 Hello. I am not really a believer in God (for I don't want to believe, but to know); however, your sermon THE CONVERSION OF A CRUCIFIED CRIMINAL GOOD NEWS FOR US ALL - GOOD NEWS FROM THE REDEEMER on the site http://www.norwich.net/~ickes/sermons/parks202.htm is very powerful. Good luck R.(F.M.)

14 May 1998 Warm greetings in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It was a pleasure to get your reply to my note in your guest book and it has been a pleasure to read and meditate on the sermons on your web page. I have downloaded all those on your page and have refreshed my soul in them. I have not as yet read them all but have them to feed my soul and rejoice in the wonderful salvation of our Almighty God. I was, for 24 years, serving the Lord in France in pioneer evangelism and church planting and, 3 years ago, returned to NZ with my wife and two daughters, leaving our son of 23 in France to continue his studies. I came back to the North Shore of the city of Auckland, NZ, to pastor a church. I am more at ease in evangelism and we find ourselves with a ministry to new immigrants here, for the most part coming from China and Taiwan but also Japanese, immigrants from Hong Kong and a few Europeans. The Chinese are the most receptive to the gospel and we rejoice in all that the Lord is doing in this work. Praise His name. I did not do much preaching, per se, in France as we were preaching the good news in the streets, from door to door etc, seeing believers established and then built up inot local churches. After extablishing elders in these churches, we were led to move on to other suburbs of the city of Marseille and begin again. Thus I have appreciated the preaching of brother Parks and thank you for your service in the Lord's name in making this available. May the Lord richly bless you. Yes, there are many churches here in Auckland and throughout the country where the word of God is preached and where the message of the grace of God is clearly taught. There are many too, where man's gospel is proclaimed, or none at all, but, praise the Lord, there are many faithful to the Word and to the gospel. Be encouraged in your ministry then, and thank you for your encouragement. With every blessing in the Lord Jesus, Yours in His sufficiency, D.G.

9 MAY 1998 I agree that the Good Shepherd lays down His Life for HIS sheep I like Author Pink, R.C. Sproul, C.H. Spurgeon, Jonathon Edwards, Martin Luther and many others who see the soverignity of God. Not many of my bretheren see that God chooses whom He will, for reasons of His own purpose cf. Rom.8:28-32. Put me on your E mail list. In His Risen Life, D.B. Ro. 5:10 Amp. is pretty good!

8 May 1998 Thank You for your internet site. A.F. & J.P.

4 May 1998 My comment: If God has in fact selected all those who will be saved, how can you suggest that "some might END UP IN HELL". This sounds likes a persons destiny may not be certain. M.M.

30 April 1998 Are you familiar with a man named William Barclay? His works are tremendous, and I recently read a piece he wrote on Universal Salvation. He has in print "The Daily Study Bible Series." After reading his article on Universalism, I went to his comentary on 1 Cor. 15:22. This is what he had to say, "As God sent forth his Son to redeem the world so in the end God will receive back a world redeemed, and then there will be nothing in heaven or in earth outside the Love and the power of God." Do you believe this man of God to be wrong? If so, why? I would appreciate your coments. Your brother in Christ, T.S. P.S. I really appreciate your articles.

15 April 1998 I have just noticed that our website is linked to yours. We appreciate the opportunity to spread the Gospel of God's free and sovereign grace in Christ Jesus. B.P.

4 April 1998 You are blessed that God has enabled you through the work of the Holy Spirit to see this truth. "Every good and perfect gift" comes from God. We must daily thank the Lord that he through his own perfect will chose us, contingent upon nothing he saw in us. It is amazing how those who preach altar calls and "making decisions to follow the Lord" totally misapply verses such as the "I stand at the door and knock" passage(Jesus is talking to his chosen disciples, not the unsaved!) Anyway, I enjoyed your little page. May we praise the Lord with a humble heart as we remember his sovereign gift of life. Take care, J.H.

12 Feb 97 Thanks for you letter and the work you are doing there in New York. I looked through your website and it looks good.

15 Feb 97 I can understand the difficulty you are having in locating a church that teaches the whole council of GOD simply because we have the same problem here in southeast florida.
I would like to take you up on your invitation. When you are able please send me a summery of exactly what you believe the bible teaches on total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistable grace, perserverance of the saints, also known as the T.U.L.I.P. And where you stand in regards to the Law. I mean the old covenant, I strongly believe the bible is clear that we as the new covenant people of GOD are not under the law in no sense whatsoever. Romans.Hebrews, Galations, Colossions are among the places where this truth is tought. And that christ is our lawgiver that has replaced moses even as our FATHER has said "This is my beloved SON hear ye Him". This also means no sabbath keeping because that also was fulfilled in christ. He is our sabbath rest.

18 Feb 97 I appreciate hearing from you and about the work that you are doing on the Internet. I do pray that the Lord will use this for His glory and the calling and building up of His elect in some way. You may hook our E-mail up to your link.

21 Jan 97 Thank you for the information on your Web Page. I appreciate you and your desire to make the Gospel known. Over all the material looks good. I would word some things differently, although the message of the Gospel of Sovereign grace is clear and plain.
One particular point that perhaps is weak is that you do not have a clear enough pronouncement of the death of Christ and the truth of particular redemption. I do not know what you believe about this, but I believe that someone can proclaim with the loudest voice the truth of God's sovereignty, man's depravity, irresistible grace, perseverance of the saints, but if He denies or neglects the truth of Christ's actual and effective substitution for sinners as essential to salvation he has denied the Gospel.
I will finish looking over the material and send you my suggestions. I appreciate your zeal to do a web page, but it is like preaching, it is an awesome responsibility, not to be taken lightly! James 3:1....(PASTOR)

20 Jan 97 I took a quick look at your web site. Looks Good! I will look at it in more detail later. I am busy right now and I need to go....(PASTOR)
