ESSENTIAL POINTS OF THE TRUE GOSPEL

The TRUE
GOSPEL is the good news that Jesus died for
our sins and rose again. Although the Gospel can be explained as
simply as this, it must be expounded upon to bring out its
essential points.
- REPENTANCE
- A person needs to repent. "Repent for the Kingdom
of Heaven is near." Matthew
4:17. To repent means to turn away from sin; to be
sorry for what you have done and to promise not to do it
again.
- CONFESS
- Along with repentance comes the understanding that we
are sinners. Romans 3:1; "There is no one
righteous, not even one." We must confess our sins
or we will face the final judgement, Luke
13:3; "But unless you repent, you too will
perish"
- TRUST
- We must trust Jesus Christ as our only hope for
forgiveness. In order to trust Jesus we must know who he
is. In 1 Corinthians 1:24 it states that;
"Christ the power of God and the wisdom of
God."
- ATONEMENT
- We must believe on the atonement of Christ. This is the
payment that corrects the relationship between God and
humans that was broken through sin. Hebrews
2:17; "That He might make atonement for the sins
of the people." Also, Christ's atonement is the only
one; Acts
4:12; "Salvation is found in no one else."
- RESURRECTION
- This is the belief that Jesus came back to life after
being dead. John 19:33; "They cam to Jesus
and found that he was already dead." Matthew
28:7; "He was risen from the dead."
