The subject of ELECTION, whereby GOD ELECTS SOME TO ETERNAL LIFE AND NOT OTHERS, is rejected by many because it brings with it the fact that God is the one who did the ELECTING, rather than the fact that man has chosen God. ELECTION therefore ROBS MAN of his SELF-PRIDE. So what does the Bible say about ELECTION ????

Eph.1:4

"According as HE hath CHOSEN US in Him before the foundations of the world, 'THAT' WE SHOULD BE HOLY and WITHOUT BLAME before Him in love."

Take notice that GOD CHOSE US 'T-H-A-T' we should be holy, NOT BECAUSE he foresaw that we would accept him, as we hear taught today. But why would God ELECT SOME ????

Eph.1:5

"According to the GOOD PLEASURE of HIS WILL."

But doesn't the Bible teach that anyone who believes will not perish?

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

But WHO WILL BELIEVE ????

Acts 13:48

"And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as MANY AS 'WERE ORDAINED' TO ETERNAL LIFE BELIEVED."

The real belief comes from God. Remember the Devil also Believes.

James 2:19

John 6:29

"This is THE WORK OF GOD, that YE BELIEVE on Him whom He hath sent."

In this verse the Lord Jesus is very definitely teaching that OUR FAITH, whereby we believe on Christ as our Saviour, IS A WORK. A work of God.

II Thes. 2:13

"God hath from the beginning CHOSEN YOU TO SALVATION."

Romans 9:11-

"For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the PURPOSE OF GOD ACCORDING TO ELECTION might stand, NOT OF WORKS but of Him that CALLETH... Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

"I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I WILL HAVE MERCY."

Why did God CHOOSE SOME and HAVE MERCY ON SOME ???

"Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make ONE VESSEL UNTO HONOR, and ANOTHER UNTO DISHONOR."

Romans 9:16

"So then [it is] NOT OF HIM THAT WILLETH, NOR OF HIM THAT RUNNETH, BUT OF GOD THAT SHEWETH MERCY."

If you still doubt ELECTION, please read and reread, again and again, ROMANS 9:16, for this is God speaking.

Why is it call UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION ???? God never bases His choice on what man thinks, says, does, or is. It is not based on the condition of our heart or soul. ELECTION is altogether UNCONDITIONAL because WE DESERVE TO BE THROWN IN HELL FOR ALL OUR SINS. That is why it is called GRACE and MERCY. God came to SAVE SINNERS, who are TOTALLY DEPRAVED.

John 15:16

"Ye have NOT CHOSEN ME, but I HAVE CHOSEN YOU, AND ORDAINED YOU."

God ELECTS us regardless of how terrible our sins really are, in spite of our sins. DO YOU WANT PARTIAL CREDIT for your salvation? Or, do you want to trust COMPLETELY IN GOD'S SAVING GRACE?

Ephesians 2:8

"For BY GRACE are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that (FAITH) IS NOT OF YOURSELVES; IT (FAITH) IS THE GIFT OF GOD."

In every aspect of our salvation WE MERIT NOTHING at all. TO GOD GOES ALL THE GLORY.

It is called UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION because he CHOSE US, ELECTED US, PREDESTINATED US ACCORDING TO THE PLEASURE OF HIS WILL, NOT ACCORDING TO THE CONDITION OF OUR HEART - ELSE ALL WOULD BE CAST INTO HELL!

1. A. ONLY THE JEWISH NATION.
2. ONLY THE GENTILES.
3. THOSE GOD FORESAW THAT WOULD ACCEPT HIM. D. THOSE CHOSEN ACCORDING TO GOD'S OWN PURPOSE & GRACE.

2. WHY IS IT CALLED -UNCONDITIONAL- ELECTION ?
1. GOD BASES HIS ELECTION ON WHAT MAN DOES.
2. MAN CHOOSES GOD AND THEN GOD ELECTS MAN.
3. GOD NEVER BASES HIS CHOICE ON WHAT MAN THINKS, SAYS, DOES, OR IS.
4. GOD FORESEES WHO WILL BELIEVE ON CHRIST, OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL, AND THEN ELECTS THEM.

3. GOD CHOSE BELIEVERS:
1. THAT WE SHOULD BE HOLY. (EPH.1:4)
2. ACCORDING TO HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE. (II TIM.1:9)
3. TO SALVATION THROUGH SANCTIFICATION OF THE SPIRIT. (II THES.2:13)
4. ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL. (EPH.1:5)
5. ALL OF THE ABOVE.

4. WHEN DID GOD ELECT OR CHOOSE BELIEVERS ?
1. WHEN THEY ACCEPTED CHRIST.
2. BEFORE THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD.
3. WHEN GOD FORESAW THAT WE WOULD ACCEPT CHRIST.

1. PREDESTINATION

6. IS THE STATEMENT; 'IF I AM PREDESTINATED TO BE SAVED, I WILL BE SAVED ANY WAY. SO I CAN SIN ALL I WANT.' A TRUE STATEMENT ?
