he baptism of Jesus signifies that He was assuming His
role as High Priest. Jesus was preparing to offer the
sacrifice, Himself, to make right (FORGIVE), our sins. He
was preparing by publicly showing that His sins were
washed away. In the Old Testament days a High Priest
would offer the most important sacrifices to God.

esus' second role was to give God's message to His
people, a Prophets job.
