DONE NOTHING WHATEVER TO MERIT THE MARVELOUS
SUBSTITUTIONAL DEATH.
- BARABBAS KNEW THAT CHRIST'S
DEATH FOR HIM WAS PERFECTLY EFFICACIOUS.
- Did Barabbas ACCEPT CHRIST before he was PARDONED?
- Did Barabbas BELIEVE in CHRIST before he was PARDONED?
Christ PAID 'IN FULL' FOR BARABBAS' SIN.
Jesus was a PERFECT SUBSTITUTE for him.
Barabbas HAD TO BE RELEASED. It was not because
of anything Barabbas had done. He was a DIRTY ROTTEN
SINNER. When Jesus said "IT IS
FINISHED", could the Romans punish Barabbas for his
sin? NO! Jesus was Barabbas' SUBSTITUTE.
This is a clear picture of ELECTION
and MERCY. God elected some to be saved by the SUBSTITUTING
DEATH of Christ. If Christ had PAID FOR
EVERYONE'S SIN then God could not punish ANYONE
because their sins were paid for. If my sin is paid for then God
will not see it. It is as far as the EAST IS FROM THE
WEST.
