LIMITED ATONEMENT PARTICULAR & EFFECTUAL REDEMPTION

For FORTY (40) years of my life I believed that:

JESUS CHRIST SHED HIS BLOOD FOR EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE WORLD AND THAT IT WAS GOD'S WILL AND INTENTION FOR ALL MEN TO RECEIVE ETERNAL SALVATION WITHOUT EXCEPTION. THAT ALL MAN WOULD HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT CHRIST TO BE SAVED.

BUT....The BIBLE teaches a different story...

ISAIAH 53:8 states:

"for the TRANSGRESSION OF 'MY PEOPLE' was he stricken."

Why did it not say; 'of ALL MEN' ? It is because He WAS NOT STRICKEN FOR ALL! Not for ADAM's SEED but for ABRAHAM's SEED, the people of the covenant, the ELECT!

HEBREW 9:12

"having OBTAINED eternal redemption.

It states here in Hebrews that Christ HAS OBTAINED REDEMPTION for the people whom He was stricken.

MATTHEW 1:21

"For HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE."

The BIBLE teaches that Jesus voluntarily took upon himself someone's sin, suffered the wrath and justice of God in someone's place, died under the penalty of God's law to put away ALL of someone's sin. Who was this someone? Was it every last individual in the world? Or was it an ELECT, chosen to be saved?

1. This is the place where the battle for God's Glory rages in our day. Did Jesus come to redeem all people or did he ACCOMPLISH the redemption for only his elect?
2. The whole Gospel STANDS or FALLS on what happened at the CROSS! If Jesus Christ did not effectually put away sin by the sacrifice of himself then there is no gospel to preach.
3. This area of doctrine is an area that will most likely be compromised in our world today.

If Jesus Christ has effectually accomplished the redemption, then man has no part in the work of salvation. BUT...if there is something left for man to do in order to put away his sin then man can BOAST because he is the CO-OPERATING worker with God in this matter of redemption.

The great majority of religious people today believe what is called; UNIVERSAL ATONEMENT or GENERAL REDEMPTION. They believe that Jesus Christ shed his blood for everyone. If Christ's INTENTION WAS TO SAVE ALL PEOPLE THEN there are three (3) inescapable conclusions:

1. If ALL MEN ARE NOT SAVED, then Christ's PURPOSE WOULD BE FRUSTRATED.
2. If Christ shed his blood for everyone in the world and if some of those people still go to HELL than Christ DIED IN VAIN! The SHAME is then on the SON of GOD who FAILED TO REDEEM.
3. If some men perish then Jesus Christ failed in his MISSION. His work of redemption is a failure.

The only conclusion to UNIVERSAL ATONEMENT or GENERAL REDEMPTION where people believe Christ came to save ALL is that HELL IS THE GIGANTIC TROPHY TO THE FAILURES OF THE TRIUNE GOD.

1. It ROBS Christ of his Glory and Redemption.
2. It destroys the foundation of HOPE.
3. It calls in to question the sovereignty of GOD.

I believe that the blood of Christ is of infinite value. That if Christ died for one sinner or all sinners his blood is sufficient and effectual to redeem them.

• THE ISSUE >IS NOT< FOR WHOM CHRIST DIED.....
• THE ISSUE >IS< OF WHAT VALUE IS THE BLOOD OF CHRIST?

The INTENTION of Christ's ATONEMENT and the EFFECTS of Christ's ATONEMENT are THE SAME.

GAL.3:13

"HATH REDEEMED."

JOHN 1:21

"THE GOOD SHEPHERD GIVES HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP."

JOHN 10:14

"I KNOW MY SHEEP." "I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR THE SHEEP."

ROMANS 5:8

"WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US." (US-HIS SHEEP-ELECT-NOT EVERYONE)

2 COR 8:9

"YET FOR YOUR SAKES HE BECAME POOR".

EPH.5:25

"CHRIST ALSO LOVED THE CHURCH, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR IT".

TITUS 2:14

"WHO GAVE HIMSELF FOR US".

1 JOHN 3:16

"HE LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US". 

If you see one of your children playing in the street and you love your child, do you just say to them not to go out in traffic or you will get hurt. Would you say I love you too much to interfere with your free will. That sounds silly doesn't it. You would pull you child out of danger!!! The same is true with the doctrine today. People say that God loves sinners too much to interfere with their free will. 

UNIVERSAL ATONEMENT makes the love of God a CHANGEABLE PASSION. FIRST HE LOVED US and sent his son to save us. THEN HE HATES US and sends us to Hell.

THOSE WHO PREACH THAT JESUS PAID FOR THE SINS OF EVERYONE:

• Reduce the love of God to nothing. What kind of love is it that has the POWER to SAVE but DOESN'T?
• Make the WISDOM of God FOOLISHNESS. If God knew ahead of time that His plans could not be carried out it would be foolish to go to the expense, which is Christ's suffering, to do them.
• Would DESTROY the JUSTICE of God. We are told that Jesus PAID the SIN debt for ALL THE WORLD. BUT yet there are multitudes that will suffer the wrath of God in HELL and pay their own debt. JUSTICE CAN NOT REQUIRE ONE OFFENSE TO BE PUNISHED TWICE.
• Reduce the POWER of God to NOTHING. We are told that GOD and the HOLY SPIRIT is 'DOING ALL THAT HE CAN DO' to save everyone but he can't do it. Is it possible for the Almighty to fail? Has the WILL OF GOD become subject to the WILL OF MEN?
• Reduce the WORK of Christ on the cross to NOTHING. It would only be a gesture of love. Just a gesture. I thought he came to SAVE and to JUSTIFY. If some that he came to save are not then he FAILED in his WORK!
• Offer NO HOPE for sinners. If my salvation depends on my work, my repentance or my faith...THEN....I will always be disturbed by these three questions;
• 1. Are my WORKS good enough ???
  2. Have I REPENTED enough ???
  3. Is my FAITH worthy enough ???

  Is it what Christ did or what I did... THANKS BE TO GOD, salvation does not depend on my work but on God's work.

• Deny the God Hood of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is not whom Christ died for, it is WHO DIED! If Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem and to same all men and women who are not redeemed and saved he is not GOD! He is not the TRUE MESSIAH! And we are ALL LOST!

Without it there is;

NO GOSPEL TO PREACH - NO HOPE - NO SALVATION

When Christ said on the cross "IT IS FINISHED", the WORK was DONE. The REDEMPTION COMPLETED.
